“Friends of the Angel”

Nebraska’s 1st Christmas Box Angel #87

Living Memorial Gardens, Sidney, NE

Angel of Hope Projects throughout the country have established “Friends of the Angel” groups to help with the general upkeep of the Angel’s area. Children and Youth organizations use being “Friends of the Angel” as a means of teaching respect and consideration for other people and property. The children become a part of something more than themselves. To teach respect, one must show respect and let the children participate. For others, being a “Friend of the Angel” is time spent in a beautiful setting meant for contemplation and reflection; a way of helping preserve and promote a place in which to find peace, beauty, and hope.

If your family or service organization would like to help us by adopting a month as “Friends” and you would like more information, please contact us.

Suggestion To-Do List for “Friends of the Angel”

  • Sweeping inside the Angel’s gated area at least once weekly..

  • While walking around the Gardens and Angel areas, please throw away any trash, as well as any wilted fresh-cut flowers left inside the gated area near the Angel.

  • Cleaning the Angel. Soft cloths (without any cleaning substance except plain water) may be used on the granite in “dusting” it off.

  • Monitoring the “Sign-In Registry” Booth for inappropriate writing and helping to maintain a record of all who visit.

  • Strolling through the Gardens in the evenings.  The Angel of Hope area is quite breathtaking in the evenings.  The area is amply lit; however, please watch your step throughout the Gardens, as the original concrete is uneven.

The Gardens and the Angel are here to remember those lost too soon and it is an area to be respected with plants, work, and tiles being donated in memory of loved ones.

THANK YOU
